Rangpur Riders

Rangpur Riders is a franchise cricket team based in Rangpur, Bangladesh. The team competes in Bangladeshi Twenty20 cricket competition Bangladesh Premier League. Rangpur Stadium serves as the home ground for the team. The team's official colors are Black and Blue. The team as founded during the second season of the BPL as the seventh team in the tournament. I-Sports currently holds the ownership of the team.
The Riders are coached by Former Bangladesh National Cricket Team coach Shane Jurgensen, and lead by Shakib Al Hasan, who is also the icon player of the team.
==History==
In 2012, The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) created the cricket tournament Bangladesh Premier League based on the Twenty20 form of the game. For the inaugural tournament held in February of the same year, a list of 6 teams who will be participating in the tournament was finalized. Rangpur Riders was bought by I-Sports for a price of USD $1.1 million which was the most expensive buy of the six franchises.
